I am a small-ish town girl. I am a serial entrepreneur and know that some of the best shops, eateries, and people are found in small towns. On the flip side I am a big fan of malls (I’m an 80s baby), love hopping on a plane, and living moments of urban life. I live my life with AND in mind. It doesn’t have to be this OR that, we can choose the AND.
For the first 37 years of my life farm girl was a label I wore proudly. Crystal Cattle was my brand. I was raising cattle and wearing all the lipstick and J.Crew I could lay my hands on. Then in 2022, we bought a bowling alley in our small-ish town, and life changed. We tried to do the AND for a bit, but then decided it was best to close one chapter to live fully in the next.
This blog takes me into that next chapter. Sharing all the things I love about being a small-ish town girl.
p.s. Can’t get enough of me here. Make sure you are following me on Instagram and you can check my podcast Squad Life (spoiler alert… it is coming back soon!)

Don’t knock it until you try it. And I’d bet money that once you do, you’re going to love it. I started shaving my face in 2020.
Every spring they grace us with their presence and I anxiously await the new colors. This is the third year I have bought them and they NEVER disappoint.
April 7 marks 12 years of marriage for my husband Jon and I. When they say marriage is a wild ride they aren’t lying. Our life has changed so much since our beginning. I couldn’t have even guessed the twists and turns God would have put in front of us.
A new season is the perfect time for a good spring cleaning of your closet. According to a New York Times article, the average woman has 103 items in their closet but only utilizes 10%. No wonder we are so frustrated getting dressed every morning.
My husband laughed at me when I said I could do carry on only. But by sticking to a formula and finding the tools I would need to help condense items it became rather easy.
